Crane footage for an action film could includes shots such as an overhead of two characters fighting, a pan up as the character is running away, or a pan down to show the result of a fight. Slider footage for any film could easily be used to present more information to the viewer, from around or corner or just simply putting important details off frame initially, then sliding over. Drones for actual story scenes might be almost impossible due to the location we film, the volume of sound produced by the drone, but for opening wide shots of the setting, it's an easy way to present this information to the viewer. Ultra wide aperture footage has a wide range of uses, from obscuring unwanted details to putting focus on a single object in frame, for an action movie an idea that's been floating around my head is to use it show the character is now focused. The character could be loosing a fight, unfocused and about to lose, but in a moment of energy and intensity, the camera ...

My personal favorite genre and the one I wish to create a short film for would be action, the genre is very full of easy to express character. I would which to film a very avant-garde action film with hints from other sub genres such as superhero films and spaghetti westerns. As long as I can keep the viewer on the edge of my seat with dramatic elements I'll be fine with how the project turns out. I have always been interested in the action genre, being able to convey emotions solely through movements and behaviors for me is a very human thing. A machine cannot properly express visual stimuli and understand the action from it. So being able to convey a truly human emotion and piece of art to me is very beautiful. Action can more than just meaningless violence, it can be a way to convey traits about the characters and their motives, the human brain automatically gathers information about people from their movements, for example if a character were goof off during a fight, it would i...

1) An easy way to improve cinematography would be to take more dramatic, or avant garde angels, film scenes from spots a film would never normally be shot in. Such dramatic angels put a form of stress or intrigue on the viewer, making them believe they are peeking in on the story being told. When it comes to making a conventional scene, an easy reference to the cinematographer cheat sheet would help. Keeping the camera steady and only allowing for shakiness when needed keeps the work easy for viewers to watch and to understand, scenes of intense action and dramatic tension would be okay with shakiness, but normal scenes, not so much. 2) For me personally, the easiest way to improve all aspects of filmmaking would be to be organized more, with personal and school projects alike, writing it all down in a clear and concise manner so editing is easier still evades me. I have personally been leaning into more avant garde filmmaking as of late, so for myself to improve aspects such as titl...

A spaghetti western is an action packed genre of movies known for dramatic angels, intense action, and morally grey hero's. Tarantino picked this genre for his movie to allow for more dynamic action and characters, while they might not being dynamic in how they change throughout the story, they begin as aggressive stereotypes, similar to the cowboy's of old spaghetti western. The subverted expectations of the genre include a change of location, from the wild west to World War Two Europe, a variety of varied antagonist who all serve different roles to the story, and the fact that only two of main characters survive.

Throughout filming, the largest reoccurring issue was being serious enough to play the role. The group, while focused, had a hard time not bursting out laughing. To recreate the scene, we used manipulation of the lights in the PAC, along with having the physically move the tripod by lifting to recreate the dolly shot. To Capture the audio, we ran lavaliere microphones down our shirts that led to a zoom recorder Erika was controlling. If I were remake the project as it was, I would have picked a better more theme appropriate scene from the movie, for while the movie matched, the particular scene did not. Another area of improvement could have been organization of audio files, there was confusion during editing on the location of some sound files. As for evidence of the role, here is the script that I wrote that recreated the scene in the movie and included character lines and actions.

Politics And The Social Order In a world where people are giving up more and more to the international powers above, what should be given away and who is where is an increasingly needed discussion. The topic of the Social Order and politics is a very interesting subject to me because to understand where and how one fits into the world, one must also delve into smaller topics like looking inwards, the past actions of the people above, and deep philosophical ideas of ownership and power. A world without any social order will go nowhere, to depicting and showing that order in a positive or negative light gives the viewer a better understanding of the world. Understanding how people delve into blind obedience allows people to know when others around them are too far gone. Stories of politics allow people to put their own personal boundaries on the world around them, and as people develop and begin to push those limits you are already prepared, as you have already been pushed and can r...

Most of the comments on my version of the film were praise on the use of color and editing. This is accepted but not surprising because of how much time and detail was put on that aspect of the film. The best part of the film, in my opinion, was the symbolism, it had depth but was easy to understand at first, with many levels following afterward. For what I need to improve, correcting things such as video quality, framerates, might all be improved. For my strengths, creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability, for cons, laziness, and forgetfulness.

Upon listening to the 3 audio sounds provided, it appears that the clip that is -12db is the desired sound for recording, this is clear because of how intense or quite the other clip was. The clip that was 0db was very loud and harsh on the ear even at low volume, meanwhile the other audio clip at -40db, it was so, so quiet, even manually boosted and at max volume, it was barely hearable. To be able to fix a clip means adjusting manually the db of the clip through the scale.

Since most the movie was filmed in a set in a single spot, sound plays a very important role in the storytelling, certain recognizable sounds were repeated to invoke emotions in the viewer. The sound of the main characters door opening was throughout the story a sign of help of joy, with the main characters friends and love interest coming in, this was played with at the end with the antagonist of the story making that sound by entering the characters house. Hitchcock used the long panning shot as a way to show off the various sounds that would be heard the area, and at the end of the story, comparing and contrasting the sounds with the final panning shot shows the change of everyone. The house of the murderer now replaced by sounds of painting and reconstruction, showing that more was to come of that area. Another key feature of the panning shot and it's sounds is showing how everyone there lived their own lives, the ballet dancers boyfriend/husband returned home, the neighbor n...

Throughout the scene, multiple background sounds of the city can be heard, whether it be the shaking of fire escapes from people waking up, to the sounds of children crying in the streets. These added sounds provide a sense of realism and intricacy to the world created. After World War 2, since Italy was one of the few countries movie industry was not left in shambles, it became the European leader in film. Since everyone returning home from the war saw horrible things and with even more horrible motivations, people were left disturbed, so this was translated to film. More dark themes such as lust, violence, and greed were shown as a sense of relation to the people who felt these thoughts.

During the Filming of the project, several shots required the same outfit to be worn multiple times over a short period of time, so keeping a small closest of loose form-fitting, easily re-wearable clothes. Several of the shots were filmed in different resolutions, causing problems during editing, so preparing the camera during certain days would have been helpful. Keeping the aspect ratio the same during the film would have been easy to do, but simple human error is ever so prevalent in the world of filing. An artificial change in resolution during parts of the film was added to provide a sense of blurriness for the viewer, relating the ever-blurring world the character lives in. A strong tint was used during every scene in the movie, the bluer the film became, the happier it was for the character, and as the film transitioned to a deep red, a more violent and upsetting world it became for the character. Once the film comes a close, the film so blue it is on the edge o...

Montage In Big Hero 6: The montage scene in Big Hero 6, demonstrates the transition the characters have going from nerdy university students who recently lost a dear friend to a group of hero's using their inventions for good. The song provided by Fall Out Boy, Immortals, has lyrics that refer to briefly being greater, or directly in the song, immortal. The 4 out of the 6 main characters all show off their abilities and new costumes while demonstrating how to take the mask off the main villain. The montage gives an optimistic perspective to the viewer, showing them that even though the villain has demonstrated extreme power, the main hero's have a chance at beating him.
