The Camera - White Balance

 Why do your pictures look so yellow? In photography, and in the real world, light has temperatures, and these temperatures affect how the image turns out. Warmer light appears more yellow on cameras, while cooler light appears bluer. Cameras have no real clue what "white" is, the sensors only measure RGB values, and white is just the highest possible light level. So when you are in a setting with an especially yellow light, your camera does not know it is white, just that this color has some green and red values in them. To fix this issue, modern cameras have a white balance option, which allows the user to tell the camera which color is actually white, and from there the camera will balance everything else accordingly. For almost all cameras, this is done by taking a picture of a pure white surface, going into the White Balance setting, and selecting the picture that was just taken. How All Three Components Work Together     From the previous blogpost I have made, I have went through and explained ISO, Shutter speed, and Aperture. All three have different ways of manipulating how light enters the camera, but combining the unique features of all three would allow for amazing results. To begin, aperture is how big or small the lense is, which allows for more or less light, with a low f-stop of 5.6, a lot of light would be flooding the lense, so with normal ISO and shutter speed, the image would be too bright. With a low f-stop, reducing the ISO would be a great choice, for it reduces grain in the image, preserving quality but allowing for proper right. On the other hand, you can increase the shutter speed, something with a speed of 1/400 of a second would allow for a still frame picture with little blur in the foreground.  Underrepresented Genres In Certain Themes By the nature of certain genres, more themes are easier to write in than others. Nature is much easier in drama and art pieces, the Here and Now is much easier in a drama or in a sitcom. Certain themes seem ripe for potential in certain genres but for somereason are not as common. High fantasy and the Sacred Realm seems like such a good combo, but the nature of how many of theses stories are written limits their potential. Many high fantasy stories are written from the perspective of lowly mortals in a fantasical world where the aether of afterlife is a mysterious force no one could understand. This trope is apparent in stories such as Game of Thrones, where lovecraftian themes are introduced which puts the gods under a viel of darkness, or Lord of The Rings where other companion books are used to describe to unearthly realm while only mentioning the realm in the main series. Film Project So Far

 Kings Quest Early on in the year, Mr. Bomboy said "I'm not expecting some large fantasy and amazing story", I am not making that, I am making the exact opposite. My goal with this project is to make a very tiny fantasy, with a very subpar story. For sources of inspiration, the main two are Monty Python and The Holy Grail  and the YouTube channel, Mega64 , which is known for their fast pace skits with absurd and comedic costumes. The Camera - ISO

 What Is ISO? ISO is the third and final part of the exposure triangle, ISO in DSLR's is how sensitive the camera is to light coming in. Low ISO would mean low sensitivity to light, and so for a picture to be properly light, a slow shutter speed and a low f-stop would be needed. As ISO increases, the grain in the image increases, as the digital sensor in the camera is becoming too sensitive to light. Lower ISO would be good for properly lit environments, with a slow or no movement image. High ISO is great for nature and sports shots, because it allows for very quick shutter speed. Below are two pictures I took at 9pm in my backyard. The first picture had max ISO of 25600, an f-stop of 7.2, and a shutter speed of 25 seconds. With those conditions the picture is fully lit. The second picture had an ISO of 100, 30 second shutter speed, and a f-stop of 5.4, and the picture is near pitch black.

The Camera - Aperture

 What Is Aperture? Aperture is one of two physical mechanisms in the Exposure Triangle. Aperture refers to how width of the actual lense, with parts being covered by mechanisms that block light in a circle around the lense. The lower the aperture, the less of the lense is being covered, therefor more light entering the camera, which leads to more exposed image. Lower aperture affects depth of field through objects closer to the camera remaining clear while objects far away are blurred due to more light causing distortion in the image. While if the aperture was higher, the smaller hole of light allows for more focus of far away objects. This affect is similar to that of a Camera Obscura, all windows are technically producing an image on the wall behind it, but with a smaller pin sized hole, the image becomes clear. To find the right aperture for your scene, one must consider how they want to the picture to be presented, do they want a picture with heavy focus on the subject and blur...

The Camera - Shutter Speed

 What Is Shutter Speed? Shutter speed is one of the main parts of the exposure triangle, it refers to the physical mechanic where the lens is exposed to light, with an actual shutter allowing light in for a specified amount of time. With it being the time the light is allowed in, shutter speed is measured in fractions of a second, and when the time exposed is more than a second, its just measured in normal seconds. A long exposure would be up to 30 seconds, or possibly as long as you want. The longer the exposure is, the more light is taken in, and from multiple sources, for example, with a long exposure, if someone were to throw a football, the camera would capture the light received from the football at the beginning of the arc, the peak, and where it lands. In comparison, a short exposure and a quick shutter speed would capture a clearer picture of the football at at a certain moment in the peak.
